The Federation of Congregations United to Serve (FOCUS) is a grassroots, multicultural, interdenominational community organization that empowers low-and-moderate income families with leadership training and skills that build relationships for community change. Since our founding in 1992, FOCUS leaders have generated more than $35 million in community improvements. Our 15 member congregations represent 30,000 families working together to improve neighborhoods. The mission of FOCUS is to develop grassroots leaders and empower people to take action to improve the quality of life for families in Orange County. We are an affiliate of the PICO National Network.

Earlier this week, several African-American and Latino faith leaders came together to kick off Souls to the Polls, urging churchgoers to take part in early voting.
The traditional day for early voting among black churches is the Sunday just before Election Day, but this year the Florida Legislature shortened the number of days for early voting, eliminating that Sunday.

"Souls to the Polls" has been a tradition in the black community since the Voting Rights Act of 1965 outlawed widespread discriminatory practices that disenfranchised minority voters.
