Leaders meet with Maitland staff to improve access to Bellamy Park
Our Winter Park congregation works with leaders from neighborhoods and communities and other congregations in and around Winter Park to develop leaders and bring about needed changes.
Past Work
In West Winter Park, leaders worked with City officials to make sure local families had access to summer programs and funding. Leaders have also worked with Winter Park Police to improve speed enforcement and other traffic issues.
Current
Leaders from Eatonville/Maitland neighborhood around Bellamy Park are working with Open Door Baptist Church to improve accessibility to Bellamy Park. City of Maitland Leisure Services staff had locked the restroom doors to facilities in Bellamy Park for several years. On February 15th, over 95 individuals gathered to meet with Police and Park staff to unlock the restroom doors and increase police patrols. Staff and officials have unlocked the doors and police visibility has improved significantly, according to residents.
