PICO Florida is four federations of congregations in Orange County (FOCUS), Brevard County (Congregations for Community Action), Alachua County (ACTION Network), and Escambia County (Greater Pensacola Community Organization). Our 53 congregations represent more than 60,000 families and reach low to moderate income communities in each city. Our congregation community organizations work locally in each of our counties, together across the state, and nationally through the PICO National Network. PICO Florida federations in 2009 shared their concerns to the Governor's office and their State legislators for the need to enroll 500,000 eligible but uninsured children in the state. This resulted in a bill to improve enrollment in KidCare that will shorten waiting periods, and make enrollment easier for families.

Peter left FOCUS as Executive Director in December to work full-time to formally launch PICO Florida.
